SUFFIXES FOR AGENTS

In your daily writing or speaking you always form doers or agents from verbs.  And without your knowledge your memory and processor (brain) supplies the suffixes and form the agents and enrich your vocabulary bank.  Read on please.

 

He is the owner of this large estate.  He employs some 100 laborers to maintain the estate and the farm around the estate.  Tax collectors of the city know him personally as he was a consultator in the income tax office before becoming the inheritor of his father vast property. 

 

Notice the suffix ~er, ~or, ~eer.  There are some suffixes which are used to make agent from Verbs and Nouns.  Generally, apart from the afore-mentioned suffixes you use ~ary, ~ar, ~ier are used to make agents or doers. 

 

Uses of suffixes enrich one’s vocabulary and one should master the uses of various suffixes to make words from words.
